Generating data tables in the console from Array, Hash, or ActiveRecord objects with the tablesmith gem.

I learned of the tablesmith gem in rubyweekly #492.

It’s a pretty neat little utility for generating console tables.

Taking it for a quick test drive…

Running the Example

The Gemfile specifies the gem requirements. bundle install as usual.

$ gem install bundler && bundle install
$ ./example.rb

This page is a web-friendly rendering of my project notes shared in the LittleCodingKata GitHub repository.

LittleCodingKata is my collection of programming exercises, research and code toys broadly spanning things that relate to programming and software development (languages, frameworks and tools).
